These three designs by James Victore really caught my eye. I knew I would like Victore's artwork after I watched his video in the artist series. He said that he sits in his studio creating artwork until he makes himself laugh. Most of his designs are lighthearted and funny when you first look at them, but most of those designs also have a great meaning behind it. That, to me, is what makes Victore's work so interesting. It can make me laugh and think about what he is trying to interpret at the same time. His artwork can range from something as a serious problem, like the racism piece above, or to humorous sketches.

I made the star stand out by putting it directly in the middle, and making it the brightest design on the page. In order to emphasize the star even more, I put a black star with a different composition and size underneath it, creating an abstract black background for the white star. I also blended a spiral shape and had it coming out of the corner of the page so that it was leading to the star.

I moved the attention to go throughout the page by having a clutter of stars along the side with different sizes and compositions. I also have lateral, parallel, and intersecting lines throughout the piece.
